The opening video recaps Brock Lesnar appearing on last week's show, despite William demanding that Heyman keep Lesnar from attacking any of his superstars. A recap of Bron Breakker spearing CM Punk off the stage, with medics checking on Punk, who is visibly hurt, after the attack, with Lesnar laughing, as the video fades to black.
CM Punk's music hits as he makes his way to the ring, visibly hurt, with taped ribs. Punk is furious. In the ring, Punk says, "I don’t care about tomorrow night yet. I care about Brock Lesnar showing his face right now.” Paul Heyman walks out alone. Punk says, "You sent Brock after me because you’re scared to address me by yourself, and you're scared your new little boy toys aren't man enough to handle the situation for you?” Heyman smirks, saying, "You’re worried about the wrong man… because Bron Breakker ends you tomorrow.” Suddenly, Bron Breakker spears Punk from behind, as William rushes out with medics and security. Cameras catch William saying, "This is not how we're going to start my show in the new year". Security escorts Breakker out of the ring, with Breakker yelling: "Tomorrow night, two out of three falls. I'll only need two to destroy you in", as Heyman smiles, looking at William, as Punk refuses help, but can hardly stand on his own.
Commentators try to bring focus back to the show, but before they can say much, cameras rush backstage where William is yelling at Paul Heyman. William tells Heyman that if Punk is too injured to compete, no matter what Punk says, he will cancel the match tomorrow night at New Year's Revolution. Heyman looks pissed, saying you won't cancel your main event. William smirks, telling Heyman, Watch me! Heyman is furious as William walks away. Breakker seems to start to follow behind William; however, Heyman stops him, telling him to calm down!
Commentators hype the Women's Fresh Start Battle Royal next.
Backstage, cameras show William shaking someone's hand, saying, "Welcome to Explosion. Good luck in the battle royal".
Commentators wonder who William was talking to as the show goes to break.
COMMERCIAL BREAK
Commentators are shocked that Jordynne Grace is not on Explosion.
Meanwhile, backstage, Jade Cargill was watching the match. Jackie Redman walks up, asking her what she thinks about Jordynne Grace winning and facing her. Before Jade can respond, Diamond White walks up saying, It doesn't matter what she thinks because tomorrow night at New Year's Revolution, I will beat her, becoming the new WWE Women's champion. Jade laughs as she gets in Diamond's face. Diamond says that last week proved that nobody likes Jade, and she's alone. Diamond says it's already lonely at the top, but Jade won't have to worry about that much longer because tomorrow night she's taking the title, as Diamond taps the title on Jade's shoulder. Jade brushes Diamond's hand off the title, telling her not to touch her championship. Jade says you have to earn this, and we both know that's something you've never been able to do. Jade clicks her teeth and winks at Diamond as she walks away. Diamond looks pissed.
Commentators cannot wait for Diamond and Jade to get their hands on each other, tomorrow night at New Year's Revolution, as they hype the rivalry between Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu, including Solo costing Fatu the match on Warriors.

COMMERCIAL BREAK
After the break, Jackie Redman interviews Jordynne Grace, asking her how she feels about being on Explosion. Jordynne says that she's always dreamed of being in the WWE, and she thanks William for giving her the opportunity. She says that she is so excited and now that she's the number one contender, she's putting both Jade and Diamond on notice that no matter who wins, she'll be the next WWE Women's Champion. Jordynne walks away, looking determined.
During the match, the Tongas got involved. After the match, Solo and the Tongas attack Fatu. The Street Profits come out, evening the odds, however the MFT's still have the upper hand, eventually laying out both Montez and Angelo, as Solo stands over Fatu and the Tonga's raise the tag team titles over their heads as they stand over the laid out Street Profits.

COMERCIAL BREAK
Cameras show the Street Profits being treated in the medics' room. Jacob Fatu walks in, pissed. Fatu says Thanks for nothing. Telling them next time to mind their own business. Montez tells Jacob he should be grateful for them saving him from being destroyed by the MFT's. Fatu says he works alone, yadadamean. Montez and Angelo are hurt and pissed as Fatu walks away.
Backstage, cameras catch CM Punk in his locker room, watching the monitor. Williams comes in, asking how he's doing. Punk says that he's a little banged up, but he's ready for tomorrow. William asks what the doctors had to say; Punk says that doesn't matter. William says that he'll go talk to the doctors directly, because if Punk is not medically cleared to compete, he's canceling the match tomorrow night, as the WWE universe boos loudly. Punk admits that doctors have advised he may need to sit out tomorrow night, but the doctors said it's solely up to him. Punk stands up, looking William straight in the eyes. William says, I already know, you're going to fight tomorrow, huh? Punk says, "Damn right! William pats Punk on the shoulder, saying Good Luck, as he walks out of the locker room.
Commentators hype the rivalry between Ace Young and Sheamus, going back to the John Cena: The Final Time is Now tournament.
Backstage, Lauren Young is hyping Ace Young up for his match. Jackie Redman walks up to interview Ace. Lauren tells Jackie not to disturb Ace while he's preparing for destruction. Lauren pushes Jackie out of the room, into the hallway, where she says that Ace is going to finally put Sheamus out of his misery. Lauren says that Ace is a good man at heart, and he's here to not only rid the WWE of has-beens, who are too delusional to know when to call it quits, but he's also going to become the WWE champion and fulfill his destiny as the new face of WWE. Jackie asks Lauren if she's also been signed to Explosion. Lauren hisses at Jackie, saying she's still the NXT Women's champion, and what she's doing is none of Jackie's concern. Lauren gets close to Jackie, licking her ear, as Jackie quickly backs up. Lauren smiles, revealing fangs as teeth, as Jackie runs away, with Lauren laughing seductively.

After the break, William welcomes Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss to Explosion, wishing them luck in their title defense tonight. William walks away as Nia Jax and Lash Legend walk up. Nia says that even if Charlotte and Alexa can win tonight, she and Lash are coming for those tag team titles. Alexa tells Nia to bring it. Nia says, I'm going to take those tag team titles just like I took your Women's championship back in the day at WrestleMania. Nia and Lash laugh as they walk away, with Alexa and Charlotte rolling their eyes at Nia and Lash.
Backstage, Jackie Redman is still trying to get herself together as AJ Lee, Natalya, and Maxxine Dupri walk up, asking if she's OK. Jackie says she thinks so, saying that Lauren just freaked her out. AJ says she understands. Jackie says, since you're here, I might as well do my job, asking if AJ and crew are ready for New Year's Revolution tomorrow night against Kiana James, Nikki Bella, and Giulia. AJ says that Nikki and Guilia are focused on titles, but tomorrow is about survival. AJ and crew walk away, as Jackie still seems visibly shaken.
Commentators hype the 6-woman elimination tornado tag team match tomorrow night.
COMMERCIAL BREAK
After the break, Chelsea Green is yelling at Kiana James about her celebration being ruined last week. Kiana promises Chelsea that when she wins tomorrow night, they'll have a better, grander celebration for her. Tiffany Stratton walks up, saying, Enjoy your title for one last night because tomorrow cheating is not an option". Tiffany winks and walks away, as Chelsea Green squeals in frustration, as Kiana tries to console her.

Cameras catch CM Punk making his way to the ring, as William asks him where the hell he thinks he's going. Punk says he has some unfinished business to take care of. William shakes his head, saying it's your funeral.
Commentators, specifically Michael Cole and Byron Saxton, fear for CM Punk as the new tag team champs celebrate in the ring.
COMMERCIAL BREAK
CM Punk demands that Bron Breakker and Brock Lesnar come to the ring. Paul Heyman comes out, shaking his head on top of the ramp. Bron Breakker is shown, standing in the audience, near the top of the arena. Brock Lesnar's music hits as Bron Breakker starts making his way down the steps, seemingly trying to get to Punk. William rushes out telling Breakker and Lesnar that if they jump Punk, he'll cancel the match tomorrow night. Lesnar smiles as he starts to make his way to the ring, but Heyman stops him, screaming, "Don't do it". The lights in the arena flicker as the Wyatt Sicks appear on the titantron. Uncle Howdy says, "Tomorrow... the reckoning begins, as Explosion goes off the air.
